South Africa secured T20I series at Potchefstroom

South Africa cricket team is playing at their home venue in recent time where they invited team Zimbabwe to visit them. As a result, Zimbabwe is currently visiting them and they started the official series with ODI cricket. Zimbabwe is currently out of the top ten ranking of ICC ODI and so, they will not play any Test series against South Africa. The purpose of their visit is to play ODI and T20I series. In the ODI series which staged first, Zimbabwe faced whitewashed against the local team Proteas. Now, they are playing the T20I series and according to the report, South Africa secured T20I series at Potchefstroom by winning the 2nd T20I. Earlier they won the first T20I and out of three matches series, they won the series already by 2 – 0.

South Africa secured T20I series at PotchefstroomFirst T20I was located on 9th October 2018 at Buffalo Park and the 2nd T20I was hosted in 12th October 2018 at Potchefstroom. In the 2nd T20I, Zimbabwe was defeated by 6 wickets.

Earlier in 12th October 2018 team Zimbabwe won the toss and decided to bat first. From the 1st T20I, Proteas took the bat and won the match. So, Zimbabwe captain Hamilton Masakadza thought to use the benefit. They came to bat and scored 132 runs in exchange for seven wickets. They did play full 20 overs there.

Sean Williams scored highest 41 runs for Zimbabwe. In return, the team South Africa reached the target in 15.4 overs and in the meantime, they lost four wickets. JP Duminy scored highest 33 runs and remained not out.

Captain Masakadza and Mire opened the innings for Zimbabwe. In 7 runs, opener Mire was gone. Paterson took the first wicket. Later, Taylor and Masakadza added almost 25 runs when Masakadza returned to the dressing room scoring 21 runs.

Taylor added 29 runs and Williams scored 41 runs for the team. Among lower orders, Chisoro added 14 runs so far. Paterson, Ngidi, and Frylinck took two wickets each for the team South Africa.

Der Dussen and De Kock started to chase for Proteas. In 23 runs Dussen returned to the dressing room. He scored 13 runs only. De Kock and captain Plessis played a little where Plessis scored 12 runs but De Kock added 26 runs so far.

In 58 runs, both were gone. Later, Duminy and Klaasen added near about 50 runs and Klaasen was gone with 22 runs. Finally, Miller and Duminy finished the game. By losing four wickets team South Africa reached the destination. Dane Paterson was announced as the player of the match later.
