England has already started their tour at Sri Lanka and their visiting purpose is to play a complete dual series against the home team Sri Lanka. Ahead of the official schedule, they have played a couple of warm-up matches against Sri Lanka Board XI. However, they have started the competition with ODI series and so, ahead of the ODI series, they have played two 50 overs warm-up matches against Sri Lanka Board XI. Before playing the Test series, they will also play a couple of warm-up matches which consists of two days each. The journey of England at Sri Lanka was not beginning well. The first ODI was banned due to rain and the rains once against affected the 2nd ODI. Due to rain, in the end, Sri Lanka could not play the full 50 overs and as a result, England won against Sri Lanka considering D/L method.
In 13th October 2018, the 2nd ODI between the Lions and England started where they started the ODI series on 10th October so far. In 13th October at Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium, Dambulla the match started and in the match, Sri Lanka won the toss and let England bat first. The target of the Lions reduced to 172 runs and they had to chase it in 29 overs. Dickwella and Tharanga started the innings for the Lions. In 9 runs, Tharanga was gone. He scored 0 runs. Dickwella scored 9 runs for the team.
Perera scored 30 runs andShanaka scored 8 runs. Finally, De Silva and Perera remained not out with 36 runs and 44 runs for the team. Losing five wickets team Sri Lanka scored 140 runs in 29 overs. Woakes took three wickets for the team England.
