Bangladesh won 1st ODI by 28 runs against Zimbabwe

Zimbabwean cricket team is in Bangladesh right now and they are scheduled to play a Test and ODI series against the Tigers. However, the tournament was about to start in next January/ Februarybut019 bt due to the general election in Bangladesh, the scheduled brought forward to October 2018 and both BCB and ZC were agreed about that. They started the tournament with ODI series and ahead of the ODI schedule, team Zimbabwe played a warm-up match consisted of fifty overs. Now, on 21st October the first ODI started between Zimbabwe and Bangladesh. In the opening match, Bangladesh won 1st ODI by 28 runs against Zimbabwe.

Though, the Tigers could not use their full power in the matches because two of the most top rated players Shakib Al Hasan and Tamim Iqbal were ruled out from the tournament due to injury reason.

The ODI series consists of three matches and later, they will also play a two matches Test series as well. Ahead of the Test schedule, team Zimbabwe will play a preparation match against Bangladesh Cricket Board XI so far.

However, in 21st October the first match took place at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium, Dhaka. It was a day/ night competition where team Bangladesh was led by Mashrafe Mortaza. They won the toss and came to bat first.

TheTigersplayed well though they failed to touch 300 runs but the presented score was enough to beat Zimbabwe. The Tigers scored 271 runs in exchange for eight wickets in selected fifty overs. Imrul Kayes made a century out there and scored 144 runs so far. Fazle Mahmud made his ODI debut in the match for theTigers. Jarvis took four wickets for Zimbabwe.

Team Zimbabwe came to chase the score later. But they failed to do so and also they played full 50 overs but scored 243 runs. They lost total nine wickets where Sean Williams scored highest and unbeaten 50 runs for the team.

Mehedi Hasan took three wickets for the Tigers in the match. So, Bangladesh won by 28 runs so far. Now they are leading the series by 1 – 0  games. The 2nd ODI will take place in 24th October in Chittagong.

Captain Masakadza and Zhuwao started to chase well where captain scored 21 runs and Zhuwao scored 35 runs so far. A number of players touched two figure runs in the match but finally could not save it.
