Team Pakistan is currently playing a Test series and according to the last news, Pakistan is in bat against Australia at Dubai. Team Australia is traveling United Arab Emirates where the grounds of UAE are considered as the home venue of Pakistan. Due to political contradiction, there are no International competitions used to be staged in the home venue of Pakistan.
So, instead of Pakistan, UAE is arranging the home tournaments of them and so, Australia is visiting UAE. They are scheduled to play a Test series and a T20I series against Pakistan.
The Test series consists of two matches and T20I series consists of three matches. Ahead of the schedule, team Australia also played a warm-up match against Pakistan A team which consisted of four days. The match ended with a draw.
However, the competitions between them started with Test series where the first match started on 7th October, 2018. In the match, Pakistan won the toss and decided to bat first. For Pakistan, Bilal Asif and for Australia Aaron Finch, Travis Head and Marnus Labuschagne made their Test debut.
In 7th October, 2018 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium, the first match between Australia and Pakistan has started. Pakistan started the match with a bat by winning the toss. Imam-ul-Haq and Mohammad Hafeez started the first innings. Openers added very good runs there. They added 205 runs where Imam was gone earlier. He scored 76 runs so far.
Hafeez made a century in the match and it was his 10th Test century. In 222 team runs, Hafeez was gone. He scored 126 runs totally. Just 22 runs later, Azhar Ali was gone as well. He scored 18 runs so far. At the end of the first day, Pakistan played all the day and after the finishing of the first day, team Pakistan scored 255 runs in exchange for 3 wickets.
In the 4th day, Haris Sohail and Mohammad Abbas started the 1st innings. Abbas scored just 1 run and gone. According to the last news, Sohail and Asad Shafiq are in the crease where Shafiq has scored 43 runs. Siddle took two wickets where Lyon and Holland took one wicket each for the team Australia.
Ahead of the match, in the warm-up competition Pakistan A team played quite well and against Australia they fought well. Actually the team Australia is led by Tim Paine who is also the wicket-keeper of the team.
Earlier, Steve Smith was the skipper of the team but against South Africa, he was charged with ball tampering and ruled out from the national team along with David Warner. So, than earlier, the regular team of Australia is currently more vulnerable. But hopefully, both teams will fight against each other well.
